I hear all the time when parents say how fast their kids grow up. But I am glad that I don’t have to buy clothes for my ducklings!
These ducks are at most a week and three days old and I am guessing they are twice the size they were when they arrived here one week ago. They have been on two field trips now and several portrait sessions. They are getting attached to me and I to them. It will be sad when they go to roam free on the farm, but they will appreciate the open space I am sure.
What I have noticed about their growth is that their head is quite a bit more “ducky.” The beak is growing and is longer, almost disproportionate to the head size.
Some have asked if we have ever had animals here at the studio. Outside of the host of pets brought in by seniors, this is a first. But it won’t be the last. I plan to have another set of ducklings in the studio again next year.
